There are some things to consider first. I do not recommend pulling the fuse for the back up sensors or disconnecting anything in the system because there may be a time when you forget to reconnect it and you might need it.
Also, the sensors and alert should only go off when you are in reverse. While driving forward, the alarm should not go off. So you have to consider how much you will be backing up and if that is really enough to make you want to disable the system.

The 10 inch hitch adapter # 80304 will give you a 2 inch receiver and about 3-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole to the edge of the 2 inch tube. using the locations you measured and taking into the account of the weld it will be about 3 inches of space.
